A completely free operating system (Linux). Has derivations of Kubuntu and Edubuntu (specifically for education). Virtually virus-free and self-updating.

Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL)

One of the best, most comprehensive library sites. Can help you with almost all writing needs.

Free office suite. Convertible, oft-updated, and powerful.

Incredibly powerful writing program. Formats screenplays, stage plays, comic books, storyboards, and more. This is the type of program that you can't believe you get for free.

A free program in which you can take a PHOTO of a SHOP and make it beautiful. Then you have a free PHOTO of a SHOP that you can print and hang in your house.

The Internet Archive

An amazing site. Tons of free images, movies, and music. Check out the live music archive for one-of-a-kind recordings.

Google Chrome or Firefox

Chances are you're probably already using one of them.

Another program you should have to pay for. Sound recording and mixing for novices and experts alike.

Where you can make free banners for your site free and easily. See "Chanese Central" in the upper left: Bannerfans.

Totally free video editor (if Moviemaker isn't your thing)

It's not a blog; it's not a movie; it's something unique. An online "poster" that has an embed option in wikispaces.

Free presentation program (web based). Because Powerpoint is for grannies.
